Magdeburg, Germany - A 28-year old man has confessed to attacking the drummer of German pop band Tokio Hotel last weekend, police said on Friday.
The man said he hit drummer Gustav Schaefer on the head with a beer glass in a Magdeburg disco late Friday night.
The alleged attacker presented himself to investigators and gave a partial confession, saying he had not specifically targeted the band member, the police said.
Schaefer's head injuries were treated with more than 30 stitches.

Magdeburg, Germany - The motives for a recent attack on the drummer of German pop band Tokio Hotel were still unclear on Wednesday, according to police officials.
Drummer Gustav Schaefer was hit on the head with a beer glass in a disco in his home town of Magdeburg late Friday night.
The 20-year old received cuts which needed more than 30 stitches.
Police are investigating on charges of dangerous bodily harm, and plan to question three witnesses as well as Schaefer himself this week.
German police question nurse over hospital deaths

Magdeburg, Germany - German police said Wednesday they were questioning a nurse following the deaths of up to 300 patients at a hospital intensive care unit.
The deaths at the Altmark Klinikums Gardelegen in the east German state of Saxony Anhalt date back to 2006 with an expert recommending that 15 deaths from last year be investigated.
The nurse, who has since moved to another part of the clinic, has rejected any suggestion that she may have been involved in the any of the deaths in the intensive care unit.
Germany's Buschschulte ends swim career

Magdeburg, Germany - Germany's former backstroke world champion Antje Buschschulte has ended her swimming career.
"I have decided to climb out of the pool and bring more time on land," the 29-year-old swimmer said Saturday.
Buschschulte competed at four Olympic Games, reaching the semi-final of the 100m backstroke and the final of the 4x100m freestyle relay at the 2008 Beijing Games.
She was 2003 world champion in the 100m backstroke. (dpa)
