The three-day meeting of the party''s national executive and the two day meeting of its national council would be BJP''s last major gathering before taking on the ruling Congress-led UPA government at the hustings.

Explosives found in Nagpur hospital: Police

Nagpur, Dec 7 : Nagpur police has said that they have found explosives in a hospital.

The police said they searched for the explosives in the hospital after a man warned the doctors on the phone.

Aziz Khan, a doctor at Crescent Hospital, was quoted saying that the caller said that a bomb had been placed near the hospital entrance and threatened of dire consequences within ten minutes.

Patients were evacuated and a police bomb squad and sniffer dog were called in. Police said they recovered the explosives and an investigation was on.

Katich accuses India of negative tactics

Nagpur, Nov. 9 : Australia centurion Simon Katich accused India of negative tactics in the fourth and final test after his own side''s defensive batting on Saturday (November 8) had marred their chances of forcing a series-levelling victory.

India''s bowlers operated successfully to a packed off-side field to restrict the runs when the tourists needed to post a commanding first innings total at a fast rate to get into a position to grab a result.

"You are kidding me, are you not? We were the defensive with an 8-1 field?" Katich asked reporters while replying to a query on sluggish run rate in the first session in central Nagpur city, hosting the fourth and final test between India and Australia.

BCCI honours ''fabulous four''

Leg spinner Anil Kumble quit as skipper this week while former skipper and batsman Saurav Ganguly will hang up his boots at the end of the ongoing fourth Test against Australia.

The BCCI felicitated Sachin Tendulkar and V. V. S. Laxman for their milestones of becoming highest run getter in Test cricket and for having completed playing of 100 Tests respectively.

The BCCI felicitated them at a function in Nagpur on Thursday.

Security measures have been tightened at the Vidarbha Cricket Association ground, which will host the match, with closed circuit cameras and hundreds of policemen swarming around the venue.

" Around 650-700 policemen, including two officials of the level of Superintendent of Police, will be on guard in areas adjacent to the stadium. The stadium will be monitored by CCTVs and 200 plainclothes policemen are being deployed.
