Delta ID collaborated with Gentex Corporation (NASDAQ: GNTX) to demonstrate the use of iris scanning as a secure, reliable and convenient way to identify and authenticate the driver in a car, and as a way to elevate the security of automobiles during the driving experience.

Delta ID and Gentex demonstrated a rearview mirror that scans the iris of the driver upon entering the vehicle and gets ready to drive. Only if authorised, the driver is able to start and drive the vehicle.

New Delhi [India], Jan. 16 : A mobile app called 'SEZ India' has been launched by the Commerce Ministry that provides detailed information about the country's special economic zones, an official statement said yesterday.

The SEZ Division, Department of Commerce under its broader e-governance initiative that is, SEZ online System, has developed mobile app earlier this month for Special Economic Zones (SEZs).

The Commerce Ministry launched the app and mentioned that the app would help the SEZ units and developers to find information easily and track their transactions on SEZ online System.

With the help of the app, the SEZ developers and units can file all their transactions digitally through SEZ online system and track the status.

New Delhi [India], Jan 13 : Telecom operator Idea Cellular on Friday announced its plans to raise Rs. 500 crore through issuance of non-convertible debentures.

The telecom company is proposing to issue unsecured redeemable non-convertible debentures amounting to Rs 500 crore on private placement basis.

Idea in a regulatory filing today announced its plan is to issue NCDs on January 17 on National Stock Exchange on which it is offering 7.77 percent annual interest.

"The date of maturity for these NCDs will be January 17, 2022. This would be the third fund raising round by Idea within a period of two months. Idea raised Rs. 1,500 crore on December 13 and Rs. 1,000 crore on January 4 through issue of debentures on private placement," added the regulatory filing. (ANI)

PIA flight crash: Black box data reveals only one engine was working

Islamabad [Pakistan], Jan. 13 : The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) findings from the black box data of crashed Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) flight PK-661 has revealed that only one of the plane's engines was working when it crashed.

Flight PK-661, carrying 48 passengers and crew, had crashed on the way to Islamabad from Chitral on December 7, 2016. There were no survivors from the ill-fated flight.

CAA Secretary Irfan Elahi shared the authority's findings with the Senate Standing Committee on Rules of Procedures and Privileges, reports the Dawn.

According to the secretary, both engines of the aircraft were running "100 percent" fine when the plane took off from Chitral. But only one of the plane's engines was working when the plane crashed.
