Islamabad, Sept: Rebutting media reports that the British government had declared Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman as persona non-grata (an unwelcome person), the British High Commission has said that the Maulana still held a valid visit visa to the UK.
“The British government has not excluded Maulana Fazlur Rehman, nor does it have any plans to do so. Indeed Maulana currently holds a valid visit visa to the UK,” the Daily Times quoted a statement issued by the British High Commission as saying.
Sydney, Sept 12: The ongoing strife between the Islamic and tribal militants on the one hand and the US-led NATO forces, on the other, in Pakistani tribal areas along the Pak-Afghan border is not only a bilateral issue between the two countries, but had international community implications, said Australian Foreign Minister Stephen Smith who is currently on a visit to India.
He said that he wished to go to Pakistan next year to discuss with its government the “hot-bed” of international terrorism on that country’s border with Afghanistan.

Miranshah, Sept 12 : Despite repeated warnings from Pakistan army and government against US attacks on Pakistani soil, at least 12 people were killed and 10 injured in yet another US drone attack at Miranshah in North Waziristan today.
The attack was carried out despite US assurance not to conduct any further raid inside Pakistan’s territory, reported The News.
US drones launched an attack inside Pakistan''s area at 4:00am early in the Friday morning, the paper quoted sources as saying.
Two missiles were fired at a house in Tol Khel area on the outskirts of Miranshah, the main town in North Waziristan district, killing dozen people and injuring 10.
Bajaur Agency (Pakistan), Sept 12 : Well-trained suicide bombers are waiting to carry out suicide attacks in every nook and corner of Pakistan, and some of them have even crossed the Pak-Afghan border to attack the US-led coalition forces there, said a top Tehreek-e-Taliban (TTP) commander Maulvi Umar in a videotaped interview to be telecast on a Pakistan-based TV channel.
The interview was conducted at an undisclosed location somewhere in the Bajaur Agency in FATA (Federally Administered Tribal Areas).
Washington, Sep 12: Islamabad is harbouring al Qaeda and placating radical domestic groups and the next attack on the US could originate from Pakistan as its politicians try to “out-demagogue one another in denouncing the Americans for killing terrorists,” the Washington Times has said.
The newspaper noted with regret that Islamabad seems less concerned about its territory being used for an attack on the US than about placating radical domestic groups.
