Reggio Calabria, Italy - Flavia Pennetta sealed a second Fed Cup title for Italy 3-0 Sunday as she claimed the winning point of the weekend 7-5, 6-2 over American Melanie Oudin in the final.
Pennetta, first Italian woman to crack the world Top 10, wrapped up the second championship for the host in three years after a title in Belgium in 2006.
Italy was playing in a third final in the worldwide women's competition, the nation's first at home.

Reggio Calabria, Italy : - Host Italy will begin its bid Saturday for a second Fed Cup title in three years as Flavia Pennetta opens weekend play against American Alexa Glatch.
Experienced Italian campaigner Francesca Schiavone will then face Melanie Oudin, who made a breakthrough with a US Open fourth round, in the day's second singles.
Sunday's reverse singles will feature Flavia Pennetta facing Oudin and Schiavone against Glatch. Doubles - if required - will be Sara Errani and Roberta Vinci versus Liezel Huber and Vania King.

Reggio Calabria, Italy - Italian police arrested Thursday a wanted Calabrian mafia boss who is the brother-in-law of a chief suspect in the August 2007 killings of six Italians in Duisburg, Germany, news reports said.
Police blocked the 31-year-old Paolo Nirta, after a short chase on foot down the narrow alleys of San Luca, a town considered the stronghold of the Calabrian version of the mafia, the 'Ndrangheta.
Nirta is the suspected acting-boss of the Nirta family which has been locked in a bloody fued with a rival clan, the Pelle-Vottari family, since the early 1990s.
