Sydney, Jan 11: Pedestrians walking by the Cross City Tunnel in Sydney, Australia, have been warned of the risk of needles being dropped by drug addicts who frequent a suburb directly above.

According to a report in the Sydney Morning Herald, as a warning to people on foot, syringe signs have been installed along the southbound ramp connecting the tunnel and the Eastern Distributor.

The signs were erected because an area in Darlinghurst directly above the partially-roofed link had become "a hot spot for injecting", a tunnel spokesman said.

The laneway, between Palmer and Bourke streets, has attracted users since it was created as a result of the tunnel''s construction in 2005.

Sydney, Jan 11: Former Australia batsman Darren Lehmann has thrown his hat into the ring for the England coach's job.

Recognised as one of the world's sharpest cricket brains, 38-year-old Lehmann on Saturday said that he would consider any offer from the England and Wales Cricket Board.

Lehmann, who played 27 Tests for Australia, began coaching Australia's academy side last year, and has already been signed by the Deccan Chargers for the Indian Premier League, the Sydney Morning Herald reported.

Sydney, Jan. 10 : Yugoslavian tennis star Ana Ivanovic has said that when she comes on court, her Scorpio instincts take over, and she becomes extremely competitive.

According to the Sydney Morning Herald, 21-year-old Ivanovic, who is otherwise beautiful and good natured, besides being UNICEF''S national ambassador to Serbia, is extremely intense when on a tennis court.

"I think when I''m on the court I become with a killer instinct, a real Scorpio . When I''m very motivated and when I have to compete I change a little bit, I become very competitive," the paper quoted her, as saying.

Sydney, Jan 09 : Hollywood actress Nicole Kidman has admitted that she is not proud of her performance in `Australia', and was quite uncomfortable watching it.

The actress stated that she was very fidgety while watching the flick with her husband Keith Urban at the Sydney Premier.

"I can''t look at this movie and be proud of what I''ve done. I sat there, and I looked at Keith and went, ''Am I any good in this movie?" The Sydney Morning Herald quoted Kidman, as saying.

However, Kidman was all praises for her co-actor Hugh Jackman and Brandon Walters' performances in the flick.
