Sydney, Dec 23 : Australian Test selectors are under heavy pressure to justify their sudden axing of spinner Jason Krejza after just one match for Nathan Hauritz.

There has been widespread support for selectors continuing with out-of-form Matthew Hayden and Brett Lee, but Krejza's dumping had former Australia Test spinners deeply concerned.

They condemned the "spin cycle" policy of constant rotation of Australian tweakers since the retirement of Shane Warne two years ago, FOX Sports reported.

Sydney, Dec 23: Australian selectors have spared pace bowler Brett Lee and out of form opener Mathew Hayden for the Boxing Day Test against South Africa, but the senior players of the team have been told they are letting down a side in transition.

Two fresh faces have been drafted into a Test squad of 13, with NSW spinner Nathan Hauritz replacing Jason Krejza and Tasmania's Ben Hilfenhaus to be measured alongside Victorian Peter Siddle for the third fast-bowling position.

Selectors' patience is wearing thinner with every passing Test in this period of rebuilding as the roles played by Shane Warne, Glenn McGrath and Adam Gilchrist has been revealed fully by their absence, the Sydney Morning Herald reported.

Sydney, Dec 22 : Australian selectors have made two changes for the Boxing Day Test with New South Wales spinner Nathan Hauritz recalled to the squad alongside Tasmanian swing bowler, Ben Hilfenhaus.

Jason Krejza has been left out of the 13-man squad after taking match figures of 1/204 at the WACA, the Sydney Morning Herald reported.

Chairman of selectors Andrew Hilditch said that Nathan Hauritz's performance in the Second Test against New Zealand earned the NSW spinner a recall.

"We were impressed with Nathan Hauritz's bowling in the second Test against New Zealand, where he maintained pressure and took wickets and deserves his recall," said Hilditch.

Sydney, Dec 21: Former Australian fast-bowling great Glenn McGrath has described as "premature" the suggestion that pace spearhead Brett Lee is on the way out.

McGrath hailed the arrival of left-armer Mitchell Johnson as great news, saying he was disappointed Australia's new pace ace missed out on a nine-wicket haul in the first innings of the Test underway in Perth.

Lee has been heavily scrutinised since Australia's ill-fated tour of India and the findings haven't painted a bright picture, The Sydney Morning Herald reported.

Sydney, Dec 19 : Former Australian fast bowler Jason Gillespie has been told that he cannot complete a two-week coaching stint with budding pacers because he plays in the unsanctioned Indian Cricket League.

Gillespie was invited by the Australian team's bowling coach Troy Cooley to work with young pacemen at the Centre of Excellence, but the move has been blocked by Cricket Australia, which sides with the influential Indian board in banishing so-called "rebel" ICL players from domestic and international cricket.

"I just found out that because of my involvement in the ICL that doesn't allow me to go and do any coaching there, which I think is quite unusual," The Sydney Morning Herald quoted Gillespie, as saying.
