London, November 15: Susanne Butscher, the first woman to give birth after an ovarian transplant, has spoken of her ‘indescribable’ bliss as she held her four-day-old baby girl.
The 39-year-old, who had become infertile after attaining early menopause, had been suffering from a consequent osteoporosis and diagnosed with premature ovary failure.
London, November 15 : NASA is launching a machine aboard the space shuttle Endeavour, which will recycle astronauts'' urine for consumption as water.
"We did blind taste tests of the water. Nobody had any strong objections. Other than a faint taste of iodine, it is just as refreshing as any other kind of water," the Telegraph quoted NASA''s Bob Bagdigian, the system''s lead engineer, as saying.
"I''ve got some in my fridge. It tastes fine to me," he added.
London - Human rights group Amnesty International has called on the Spanish government to ensure that there is an effective judicial inquiry into crimes committed during the 1936-39 civil war and the ensuing dictatorship under General Francisco Franco.
In a statement released in London and Madrid, Amnesty said Spain should comply with its international obligations regarding past crimes and investigate the "enforced disappearances" during the civil war period.
Rajkot, Nov. 14 : India thrashed England by 158 runs in the first of seven one-day internationals held here on Friday.
Chasing a mammoth target of 388 runs, England were bowled out for 229 runs in 37.4 overs, losing wickets at regular intervals. Only skipper Kevin Pietersen shone with the bat, scoring a 56-ball 63 with seven fours and two sixes. It was his 20th ODI fifty.
Fast bowler Zaheer Khan wrecked the England batting line-up by taking 3/26 off seven overs. He was ably supported by Munaf Patel and R P Singh who took a wicket each.
