London, Nov 14 : President-elect Barack Obama has been given his secret service code name – Renegade.

Obama had a say in choosing the rebellious name used by his elite protection team. He was given the choice of several names starting with the letter R, The Sun reported.

And in keeping with the tradition of having all family members’ code names start with the same letter, future first lady Michelle Obama is Renaissance, and daughters Sasha and Malia are known as Rosebud and Radiance, respectively.

The 116 participants at St Pancras International Station, London, took the

record for the largest gathering of people in only their underpants, reports Times Online.

The act was done to mark Guinness World Records Day, and the event was organised by Pants to Poverty.

London, Nov 14 : French President Nicolas Sarkozy saved the President of Georgia from being hanged “by the balls” — a threat made last summer by Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin.

According to an account that emerged on Thursday from the Élysée Palace, Putin had revealed his plans for disposing of Saakashvili when Sarkozy was in Moscow in August to broker a ceasefire in Georgia, The Times reported.

London, Nov 14 : The British military death toll in Afghanistan and Iraq has hit 300 when two Royal Marines were killed in an explosion in Helmand province. The deaths bring the total killed in Afghanistan to 124, while 176 have died on active service in Iraq since operations began.

The marines, from UK Landing Force Command Support Group, were taking part in a joint patrol with soldiers from Afghan security forces when an explosive device in the Garmsir district of Southern Helmand struck their vehicle on Thursday.

The Ministry of Defence said that next of kin have been informed and asked for a 24-hour period of grace before more information is released.

London, Nov 14: The man accused of raping and murdering 17-year-old British girl Hannah Foster has said that he was kidnapped, bound, blindfolded and forced to have sex with the teenager.

Maninder Pal Singh Kohli, 41, told the jury that on the night Hannah went missing near Southampton, in 2003, he was bundled into a car by three men before being forced to have sex with a woman he now believes was Hannah.

Kohli portrayed himself as a victim of revenge, saying a colleague to whom he owed 16,000 pound targeted him.

London, Nov 14 : Austrian incest fiend Josef Fritzl, who forced his daughter to watch porno videos with him in her underground prison and then made her re-enact the film scenes, has been charged for murdering one of the children he fathered with her.

The 73-year-old, who’s a retired engineer, was charged with murder and slave trade after allegedly sexually abusing and incarcerating his daughter Elisabeth, 42, in the cellar of his home, where one of the children she was forced to bear died due to lack of medical attention, reports the Telegraph.
