Israeli researchers have introduced the male alternative to the female birth control pill.

The formula works by getting rid of vital protein in sperm necessitated for a female to conceive.

The contraceptive needs to be taken one time in three months, says scientists behind the breakthrough.

Thus far, efforts at a 'male pill' have failed and researchers have been working on a contraceptive hormone jab for males given by physicians.

But, recipients in trials have complained of side effects including depression, moodiness and loss of libido.

The researchers said that the new pill is 100% helpful at stopping pregnancy and has no side effects.

"The pill we are developing gives men the joy of sex without any consequences," Haim Breitbart of Israel's Bar-Ilan University, near Tel Aviv, said. (With Inputs from Agencies)
