Rocker Doherty caught using drugs in plane bathroom

Rocker Doherty caught using drugs in plane bathroomGeneva  - Musician Pete Doherty, lead singer of the band Babyshambles, was fined upon arriving in Geneva last week, after having apparently injected illegal drugs while on-board an aircraft, Swiss media reported Monday.

During the flight from London to the Swiss city on Friday, an air hostesses found the singer collapsed near the toilet.

While the plane's crew initially assumed food poisoning was to blame, the discovery of a used syringe soon led to a different conclusion and they contacted the police on the ground.

Doherty, aged 30, was picked up by officers at the Geneva airport and fined an unknown amount of money. He then carried on to perform at a festival in the nearby city of Neuchatel.

His spokespeople would only say he performed well at the concert.

The singer's cocaine and heroin addictions have put him in the headlines numerous times. Last year Doherty served jail-time on drug-related charges.
