Roger Jenkins, Barclays' top-earner to leave
Roger Jenkins, Barclays' high-profile executive who was instrumental in the bank securing billions of pounds in overseas funding is set to leave the company soon.
Roger Jenkins, Barclays' highest paid employee is said to be in negotiations with his seniors over the timing of his exit.
It is worth mentioning here that only last week David Walker suggested that City institutions should submit details of their top-executives' earnings. Roger Jenkins, who helped the company in evading a taxpayer bailout last year, earns as much as £40m-a-year.
Roger Jenkins, who joined Barclays in 1978, is expected to set up an advisory business after quitting his present job.
Mr. Jenkins Advisory business would toil with sovereign wealth funds and other financial institutions on corporate deals.
He is also expected to continue advising Barclays on a consultancy basis, through his office which he is expected to open in London.
Mr. Jenkins, who has shared around 30 years with Barclays build his status by counseling clients on complicated schemes that saved them tons of money in tax payments.
Barclays declined to comment on the topic.
