RPG Life Sciences introduces biotech product, Sirolimus

RPGRPG Life Sciences, a company owned by RPG group, has introduced its second biotech immunosuppressant API Sirolimus in the market. The product is very effective for the body to avoid organ rejection, and is particularly beneficial for patients who lost organs in mishaps and need to go in for the transplant of an artificial one.

The company's Managing Director, Arvind Vasudeva, said: "We are one of the two companies from India manufacturing this product. RPG Life Sciences has always focused on biotechnology as one of its growth drivers."

The end-to-end Sirolimus, having patent up to 2014, is currently undergoing development tests and it would be commercially produced at the company's MHRA-approved and USFDA approvable plant in USA. It will be the second immunosuppressant in the biotech field, after the launch of Cyclosporin.

Other dugs available in the category include Daunorubicin, Doxorubicin and Epirubicin that accounts for 36 per cent in to the revenue of RPG Life Sciences. The company, under oncology and immuno suppression, is also developing three biotech molecules which are expected to hit market in the current financial year.
