Rural Internet usage rate increases in India
The recent study by Internet and Mobile Association of India (IAMAI) has stated that we have 5.4 million Internet users in Indian villages, this study was conducted in joint association with the Indian Market Research Bureau (IMRB).
It was further added that the net users of Internet in rural India has grown to 5.4 million in 2010 as compared to 3.3 million in 2008.
This data has actually gone up by 30 pc with regard to number of rural Internet users over the previous years. These are the actual number of "active" Internet users who have been online or have logged in over the past 30 day states the report.
The data tabulated in 2009, stated that 67 pc of users of rural areas access net for music and video content. Some users use internet for supposed constructive purposes such as educational purposes and for finding information using search engines.
