Indian tennis ace Sania Mirza has stormed in to the semifinals of the Aegon Classic with a prize money of USD 220,000 in Birmingham on Friday.

Sania defeated 16th seed Hungarian Melinda Czink in straight sets in the quarterfinal of the Aegon Classic. Sania won the match against Czink by 6-1 7-6 (4).

Sania won first set easily as Czink made 6 double faults and lost her service twice in the first set. But, in the second set both Sania and Czink were outstanding as the set went to the tie-breaker in which Sania won the set by 7-6(4).

Earlier, Sania defeated fifth-seeded Russian Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova by 7-6(3) 3-6 6-2 to enter in to the quarterfinals of the Aegon Classic on Thursday.

Sania will play in the semifinal against the winner of the match between Magdalena Rybarikova of Slovakia and Urszula Radwanska. The final of the Aegon Classic will be played on Sunday.
