Short sleepers ' more linked with ailments

Short-sleepersThe latest study has stated that individuals who sleep less than six hours a night might be three times more prone to develop ailments such as diabetes and heart diseases.

A finding by a team of researchers from Warwick Medical School and the State University of New York at Buffalo have revealed  that short sleep duration is linked with an increased risk of a pre-diabetic state, which is named as incident-impaired fasting glycaemia (IFG).

IFG indicates that the body is not control the glucose in a normal manner. People with IFG have an increased risk for developing type 2 diabetes and at the same time complain of heart diseases and strokes.

The researchers accumulated the same from the data offered for six years from 1,455 participants in the Western New York Health Study.

The study was based on respondents aged between 35 and 79 years old and entirely based on a clinical examination that comprised of blood pressure, height and weight according to the reports of the researchers.
