Shree Cement posts robust growth; Q4 net profit soars 474%

Rajasthan-based Shree Cement Rajasthan-based Shree Cement on Saturday announced its results for fourth quarter ended March 31, 2009.

The company reported a surge of 473.72% in its net profit to Rs 235.63 crore for the fourth-quarter (Q4) ended March 31, 2009, compared to Rs 41.07 crore in the March quarter of FY'08.

Further, the company witnessed a jump of 22.19% in its total income, which rose to Rs 811.64 crore in the quarter from Rs 664.24 crore in the corresponding year-ago period.

For the full year ended March 31, 2009, the company registered a net profit of Rs 577.96 crore, up 121.97%, against Rs 260.37 crore in the previous fiscal.

In addition, its total income also increased to Rs 2,740.57 crore for the year ended March 31, 2009, from Rs 2,129.42 crore earlier.

Besides, the announcement of results, the board also recommended an interim dividend of Rs 5 per share and a final dividend of Rs 5 per share taking the total dividend to Rs 10 per share.

The scrip of the company fell by 0.97 per cent to close on Rs 813.35 in the Friday trade on the BSE.
