SS Netcom Plans To Set Up First Global Call Centre In MeghalayaSS Netcom, the first IT solution company in the country's North Eastern region, is establishing an international call centre in Meghalaya.

SS Netcom Founder Conrad Sangma stated, "The client (an international IT company) is ready and we are in the process of streamlining the system."

In the Meghalaya Assembly, Mr. Sangma, a Wharton alumni, also serve as the youngest leader of opposition.

"The (international) call centre will help our state to contain the brain drain. The centre can employ more than 4,000 people," Mr. Sangma said.

Established in the year 1999, SS Netcom is the first IT solution company in Meghalaya and within a period of one year broadened its service to Nagaland and Manipur.

In the year 2005, it introduced the first 24-hour call centre in the region.

Its clients comprise Airtel, Aircel, IDEA Cellular and Tata Indicom.

"It is a big hurdle to set up an international call centre in Meghalaya due to its poor air connectivity, but we always hope for the best," said Sangma. (With Inputs from Agencies)
