Starbucks employee fired for bad behavior
A shift manager at a Starbucks in Queens, NY, was caught on camera shouting at a customer and was fired after the incident. A customer was using her phone to pay for the order and she was busy opening an app. When the woman didn’t respond to an employee, the shift supervisor allegedly started shouting at the woman. On Wednesday, the incidence took place at the Starbucks location in Queens.
The customer is identified as Ruby Chen. She posted on Facebook that the shift supervisor started shouting at her. She also wrote that the supervisor told her that she will not be served and also said that she stole a straw from the store.
The customer also posted an update on her Facebook page, in which she said that the district manager has approached her and apologized. Chen added that the shift supervisor is no longer working for Starbucks.
Chen says the shift supervisor no longer works for Starbucks. She also added that the store offered her a $100 gift card. The Starbucks employee who abused the customer and shouted at her has quit her job.
According to a company spokeswoman, “This customer's experience is not reflective of the service our partners provide to customers every day. Our leadership team is reaching out to the customer to apologize and make this right". The comments made by Chen on her Facebook page have been either removed or made private.
As per the manager, who didn’t want to be named, Starbucks management does its best to hire good staff that can take care of the customers properly. The manager said that the employee involved is a good person who behaved badly.
