Stock Markets touched All-time high; ended 38 points higher

Stock Markets at All time high
The Indian Stock had another volatile day, but the BSE Sensex managed to touch its All-time high. The markets opened strong and rallied further to touch all time high of 17425. Due to selling pressure and profit booking in certain counters, the markets slipped into red but ended 38 points higher due to support from Reliance and PSU stocks.

Cement stocks were also the gainers in today’s market. ACC touched its 52-week high during intra-day trading. Due to buying in Reliance Stocks and some select PSU counters, the markets ended the day in positive zone. The markets touched a high of 17425 which was 280 points higher that its intra-day low.

NTPC was among major gainers on BSE with almost 6.5% rise. The stock closed at Rs 206 on Bombay Stock Exchange. Reliance communications was another stock which ended the day at 612 with a gain of 4.5% compared to yesterday’s close. ONGC was very close to 1000 and ended at 997 with a gain of nearly 4 per cent. Pharmaceutical Majors Cipla, Dr.Reddy's and Ranbaxy were among gainers on stock exchanges.

Lot of action was seen in Pharmaceutical counter Dr.Reddy's. The stock touched 52-week low of Rs 600 but ended much higher at Rs 659.

Reliance stocks were most active counters on NSE NIFTY. Reliance Energy was having lot of buying interest after the news of Reliance Power IPO. Reliance Communication, Reliance Industries, Reliance Petroleum were among other counters from Reliance group which were among most active stocks on NSE.

The day was not good for banking sector. SBI tumbled by 3% to end at 1894 while HDFC bank was also weak.
Tata Power gained nearly 6.4% on NSE and closed above 900 levels while BHEL was weak in today’s market and lost 2.3% to end at 1990.

Allahabad Bank touched 52-week high and ended the day at 109. Among cement counters, ACC was star performer with 52-week high of 1226.30. The stock ended marginally lower than its highs at 1210.
