The supermarket chain, Stop & Shop were working on the final consensus of the agreement between the labor unions in Connecticut, Rhode Island and Massachusetts.
After the hard work, the Supermarket workers in southern New England have nodded on the amended agreement after many difficult negotiations upon salary, and other benefits.
According to Jim Riley the members from the five unions of United Food and Commercial had approved and accepted the contract after the voice votes on Sunday. The union forms more than 40,000 workers in its palette.
The terms and conditions of the agreement support the increased hourly wages in accordance to inclined pension and health benefits, simultaneously.
The supermarket Stop & Shop wanted to reach to the final goal of providing fair deal to the workers that will entertain the employees to continue to provide jobs and serve customers with satisfaction.
After the long negotiation and consequences of possible strike, the duo managed to agree on the terms and conditions.
