Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd, a leading India based drug major has informed that the US Food and Drug Administration (USFDA) has given approval for its New Drug Application for generic Accupril, quinapril hydrochloride tablets.

These quinapril hydrochloride tablets, therapeutically equivalent to Accupril tablets from Pfizer, are available in four potencies including 5 mg, 10 mg, 20 mg and 40 mg.

The sources close to company said that these strengths of tablets have annual sales of approximately USD 45 million in the US.

Quinapril is an angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitor recommended in the treatment of hypertension and congestive heart failure.
