Jorhat (Assam), Dec 26 : Scenic beauty, magnificent outdoors and mild climate in the northeast provided a perfect environment to play Golf. Recently, the Super Autumn Golf Tournament was organised at the Kaziranga golf resort near Jorhat in Assam.

Some 70 golfers from across the country gathered at the Kaziranga golf resort at the Sangsua tea estate to participate in the Tournament. The pleasant weather provided good playing conditions for the golfers.

"This is the second time that I am coming to play here in the northeast, Assam. I have played in many other places but this is one of the best places that I have seen. Everything is excellent and very challenging," said Mohabatra, a golfer.

"I think this is one of the best golf resorts in the northeast as well in our country. I have travelled all around the places and I am happy to come here again where there is international golf standard," said N Wanglet.

The resort, inaugurated in 2001, is built on a 150-acre site and is an 18 hole, Par 71, championship golf course. It is equipped with guest rooms, golf café, bar, a wellness centre and a fine-dining restaurant.

"People are appreciating and recognize that Kaziranga golf resort is one of the leading resorts in the country now. We have got lots of enquiry from outside and India. Locals are also enjoying the facility and we will host the tournament again in next year," said A K Choudhary, MD, Kaziranga golf resort.

The northeastern states have tremendous scope for tourism and as peace and normalcy gradually return to the region, it has started attracting both domestic and foreign tourists.(ANI)
