Paris - French Open champion Ana Ivanovic said Friday that her problem knee has been brought into top shape by a travelling osteopath. But the Serb confesses she's still looking for a few new rituals to follow during her first Grand Slam title defence.
Ivanovic missed last week's Madrid event after losing early in Rome with her problem but feels that's behind her now as she heads to the Sunday start of the clay-court major.
"I've been practising the last week, and I feel fit to play," she said. "I don't want to make the same mistakes like I did last year just playing when I was not fit enough.
"I definitely feel 100 percent. I feel healthy and I feel like I can do well and I have a good chance here."
But Ivanovic and her team say that in the heady days of the 2008 run to the trophy over Dinara Safina, any informal off-court rituals they may have practised have been forgotten.
"We didn't keep track of anything last year. But I am a little bit superstitious - I need to find new rituals for this year.
"Every year, every place you try to find a certain restaurant or a certain place where you feel comfortable. I have to look for this before the tournament starts."
Ivanovic lost her number one ranking in the months following her Paris success and has lifted just one small title in Linz since her big breakthrough.
But Paris will hopefully be a new beginning. "I love playing here on clay. But as a person, nothing really changed after my victory. I'm just enjoying life, but obviously it was great achievement for me.
"It was like a big dream coming true."(dpa)
