Swine flu: 1 more dies in Ahmedabad, death toll rises to 10 in Guj

gujaratSwine flu turned more deadly on Friday as a woman died of deadly virus in state capital, Ahmedabad, taking the death toll in Gujarat to 10.

It is learnt that a 34-year-old woman named Rasilaben Paldia, admitted to Sterling Hospital in Ahmedabad on August 29 died on Friday morning.

Confirming the development, a top health official said: "Today morning, Rasilaben Paldia, who had tested positive for H1N1 virus, died due to cardio respiratory arrest at the Sterling Hospital."

The official also added that the victim had complained of cough, sore throat, high temperature and increased breathlessness.

Meanwhile, the state health authorities are trying their best to map out all persons who were in direct contact with these four people and make certain that they underwent screening.

Earlier on Wednesday, a seven-month pregnant woman died of swine flu in Vadodara city of the state.

Apart from this, three more persons in Ahmedabad tested positive of swine flu on Friday.

Notably, Gujarat is the third worst swine flu-hit state after Maharashtra and Karnataka in the country.
