Four more persons succumbed to H1N1, raising the total number of swine flu fatalities in Karnataka to 19.

Health officials informed the media persons that a person named Nagaraj (38), admitted to Sagar Hospital on August 15 died in the wee hours on Wednesday, and a 48 year-old Munirathnam in St Philomena's Hospital on August 22.

Pushpalatha Bhaktesh (35) and Venkatesh (45) succumbed to the virus at St Martha's Hospital and KIMS Hospital in Bangalore respectively on August 24.

On Wednesday, as many as 22 fresh H1N1 positive cases were reported in the state.

Out of these 22, 21 alone were from the Bangalore, the state capital while one was reported from Udupi.

Notably, the South-Indian state has so far recorded 367 swine flu positive cases. Karnataka is the second worst swine flu-hit state after Maharashtra in the country.
