In a significant move, the government of Goa has ordered a Panaji-based school to close down for a week.

This follows after two pupils of the same school were found suffering from deadly virus of swine flu.

Moreover, three other pupils were also suspected of being affected by the flu.

Confirming the development, Celsa Pinto, State Education Director, said: "We ordered the school not to hold classes as a precautionary measure this evening. The health department had advised for the action."

Notably, two pupils of the fifth class of People's High School had tested positive for the swine flu. However, both the pupils have since recovered.

The two confirmed cases were detected last week.

It is believed that the pupils have contracted the virus on their trip to Pune during the Ganesh holidays.
