Swine Flu: Woman tests positive in HP

Swine FluThe news is that a woman in Himachal Pradesh has been tested positive for swine flu.

This is the first swine flu case reported so far in the hilly state.

Speaking on this, Vinod Mehta, Nodal officer, Himachal Government said: "This female patient recently returned from Ludhiana. Her medical tests have tested positive."

The official said that the swine flu victim has been quarantined at home.

As per the latest reports, the patient is showing symptoms of recovery.

It may be recalled that the state health authorities had sent samples of 12 flu patients to New Delhi lab last week. Out of these, only one patient had tested positive.

Meanwhile, the government of Himachal Pradesh has also set up a control room to assist the general public for counseling and looking for information about swine flu. Apart from this, the government has also set up isolation wards at the Shimla's Indira Gandhi Medical College and Hospital and in all district hospitals.

Over 25 people have succumbed to this deadly virus in the country so far.
