Synthetic life can create a monopoly on genetic engineering

John SulstonA top UK scientist has said the first synthetic life would give the inventor a monopoly on genetic engineering. It would strain the important research as per Professor Sulston.

Dr. Craig was the leader for the research of the artificial life. Both Dr. Venter and Prof. John Sulston were clashed on the intellectual property as they tried to sequence the genome in the year 2000.

Dr. Venter has made this research private where it should be free to access for any scientist alleged by Prof Sulston. Sulston was a part of government as well. 10 years ago they had informed about the information.

Now the old rivals are clashed again on the issue over Dr. Venter's research to apply of patents over the artificially made genome named Synthia. The team has created a landmark on the genetic science.

But according to Prof Sulston the patenting this invention would be extremely dangerous.

A spokesman for Dr. Venter in California has said that many labs and companies are involved in this research and they have faith on it. He also added Prof Sulston should not worry about those things as he is not a part of it.
