Tata turns Logistics provider for CWG  The CWG officials are surely having a tough time in getting sponsors for the much-awaited sporting event Commonwealth Games but they surely have bagged one of the biggest names in the Indian business - Tata.

According to the sources, the deal is barter among the two parties wherein, the home-grown automobile major will provide 1,800 new cars to organisers of Commonwealth Games to ferry athletes in lieu of its advertisements as a logistics solutions sponsor for the 12-day sporting event.

It is believed that the deal will be very much beneficial for Tata Motors as it will take its image on the global charts instantly. While the total cost for the cars come out to be Rs. 140-150 crore for Tata Motors, but it is to be mentioned here that the company will take back the cars after the event and the products will be sold after the sporting event through its used car business 'Tata Motors Assured'. The Tata Motors spokesman said that the company is doing this arrangement because of the advertisement benefits and it would not like to discuss more on the commercial implications of the same.
