Washington, Apr 24 : English singer Sir Elton John got a standing ovation from his fans in Las Vegas as he played the final show in his five-year residency.
John, 62, who has been a regular fixture at the Colosseum at Caesar''s Palace since signing on for a three-year deal in February 2004, was scheduled to play 75 shows over that time period, but a further 166 concert dates were added due to popular demand.
London, Apr 24 : Even Elton John could not fight the ill effects of recession. He has lost a quarter of his hard earned wealth in the last year.
The ''Candle In the Wind' hitmaker has seen his fortune drop from 75million pounds to 55 million pounds, reports The Mirror.
But Elton is not the only one, who has been a victim of the credit crunch, as celebrities like Sir Paul McCartney have also witnessed the negative effects of the ongoing economic fall.
He has lost his 60 million pounds within the year.
Washington, Feb 18 : Legendary musician Elton John has teamed up with his partner David Furnish to produce a rather nonconformist alien flick, which will show aliens mixing with Jane Austen characters.
While the Rocket Films production company bosses have given the venture, which will show an extraterrestrial space-craft landing in
18th century Britain, a green signal, Furnish seems thrilled to begin working on the flick aptly titled `Pride and Predator'.
"It felt like a fresh and funny way to blow apart the done-to-death Jane Austen genre by literally dropping this alien into the middle of a costume drama, where he stalks and slashes to horrific effect," Contactmusic quoted Furnish as saying.
Washington, Feb 2: Sir Elton John is apparently one person who does charity in style, for the legendary singer has launched a limited run of crystal-encrusted iPods to raise funds for his AIDS charity.
The `Sacrifice' hitmaker personally supervised the production of 1,000 of the fittingly flamboyant devices.
The music players, prized at 584 dollars, also features the 61-year-old singer's signature lasered on the back.
