Asus's Eee Top puts display in PC

Asus's Eee Top puts display in PCRatingen, Germany - Computer maker Asus is now offering a PC in the style of Apple's iMac: all hardware is contained within the monitor. The Eee Top features a touch-sensitive 40-centimetre screen, the company announced.

The computer, based on the technology behind Asus' Eee PC mini laptop, allows for the display to be controlled using either a stylus or the user's finger. A keyboard and mouse are also included in the delivery.

New technology designed for handicapped

Dusseldorf - Folding electronic carts and text-reading mobile phones are just some of the latest gadgets exhibited at the recent Rehacare Fair in Dusseldorf for the handicapped.

Around 758 exhibitors from 30 countries attended the show.

First there's Luggie, a folding electronic cart intended as a travel aid. Folded, it's about as big as a suitcase and weighs 21.5 kilograms including batteries. Its patented mechanics allows the suitcase to unfold in seconds and turning into a cart with a maximum speed of 6.5 kilometres an hour and the capacity to climb grades of up to eight degrees.

Swiss producer FreeRider Corp hopes to start production in January and sell the Luggie for about 2,000 euros (2,663 dollars) each.

Estonia introduces the travel-free travel fair

Tallinn - Estonia has already given the world the internet telephone service Skype and recently opened a NATO cyberdefence academy in its capital, Tallinn.

Now the Baltic nation, which is so in love with all things online that it sometimes brands itself "e-stonia," has come up with another internet first - a virtual travel fair.

The inaugural online travel fair, entitled "Travel Expo," runs October 27 through November 5. It is the idea of Estonian company Online Expo, run by young entrepreneurs Anna Lepp and Sergei Semjonov.

TiVo signs major deals to expand its video library With the aim to provide unlimited media via the use of single device, embedded with an easy to use interface; TiVo recently signed a deal with CinemaNow and Jamal. Thorugh this deal, more movies have been added to TiVo library, most of them being provided from Disney Studios. 

Now the movie lovers can rent the movies by paying between $1.99 and $4.99 for a time period of 24 hours or a whole week. In some cases, movies can also be bought but it all would depend upon the price agreed by the content owner.

Finnish mobile handset maker Nokia has launched a new CDMA mobile phone, Nokia 2228.

India to have a manned lunar mission by 2015

It was the very first attempt from Indian side to commence a lunar mission, and with the successful launch of Chandrayan I, the nation aims for more. It has been revealed that the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) will now work to have a manned lunar mission that can take place by 2015. With the unmanned spacecraft launched, India now becomes one of the six nations to send its spaceship to the moon’s orbit. The other five are U.S., former Soviet Union, European Space Agency, China and Japan.
