London, Sept 17 : Social networking sites are the biggest drawers, when it comes to Internet searches, dethroning online pornography, according to a new survey, which has provided an up-to-date view of how society is changing.

To reach the conclusion, Bill Tancer, a self-confessed ''data geek'', analysed the search habits of more than 10 million web users.

"There are some patterns to our internet use that we tend to repeat very specifically and predictably, from diet searches to prom dresses to what we do around the holidays," Telegraph quoted Tancer, as saying.

The research shows that elbows, belly button fluff and ceiling fans rank among the things people fear most, as do social intimacy and worries about rejection.

London, Sept 17: Contrary to popular belief, video games don''t turn teens into anti-social loners, in fact, they make them get more involved with friends and community, says a report.

The Pew Internet study of US teenagers revealed that only a small number of adolescents play alone, while most of them actually join their friends while gaming.

The survey of 1,102 teenagers aged 12-17 revealed that many teenagers even used educational games to learn about world issues and also became more involved in politics.

San Francisco - Google is to launch the first mobile phone running its Android software next week in a joint initiative with T- mobile, the companies said Tuesday.

The open-source Android system is seen as Google's answer to Apple's successful iPhone and as a key initiative in the internet giant's quest to extend its dominance to the mobile web.

Google has worked closely with US carrier T-mobile and Taiwan electronics maker HTC to develop the new phone, which is to be called Dream.
