Teen Paralysed After Rebuke At TV Reality Show

Sixteen-year-old Shinjini Sengupta from Kolkaka slipped into depression Dance Reality Showand rendered paralysed on being harshly criticized by the judges during a reality show on a Bengali TV channel.

Unable to cope with the humiliation in front of the whole audience, Shinjini failed to recover from the shock.

She was admitted to Calcutta Medical Research Institute (CMRI) on June 11 but was discharged.

But, she was soon readmitted for anti-psyche treatment on June 23 after the problem intensified and she was unable to recognize her family members and understanding instructions.

Later on, she lost her ability to speak.

After all the treatment in Kolkata failed, Shinjini was shifted to NIMHANS, a premier neuro-sciences hospital in Bangalore on Friday

The doctors have been unable to diagnose her illness thus far.

A talented youth, Shinjini, who loved to dance, has acted in Bengali tele-serials. Moreover, she had also appeared in a Bengali movie.

Her relatives said that she never recovered from the shock of being publicly criticized by the judges during the shooting on the 19th of May.

Reportedly, the show producer has offered Rs 1 lakh as compensation to Shinjini’s family. He also said that that the judges rebuke was not meant to abase or dishearten Shinjini.
