Telstra increases data allowance
In January Telstra had announced changes in its post paid plans. The entry level data allowance had been doubled at that time, to 29.95 dollars for 400 MB.
Now, Telstra has announced its revised rates for its pre paid wireless broadband offerings. The new rates would be effective from tomorrow. The customers would be getting up to 3 times more data without paying a penny more.
Telestra had been charging a premium from its customers previously as it had been providing better services with a wider network coverage. Now it has made its premium amount smaller and most analysts believe that it is a justifiable one now.
Telestra has made its offerings more competitive now and the competitors will have a tough time figuring out strategies to come over this. Most of its new offerings are valid for a period of 30 days except the 2 new options which offer a longer expiry date. One is 90 day plan which offers 3 GB allowance for 130 dollars and the other is a 180 day allowance for 4 GB, which is priced at 150 dollars.
Currently Telstra is the market leader and one of the key features for this growth is the wireless broadband sector.
