‘Terror suspect’ Dr Aafia’s sister says Pak refused to recognise her childrenIslamabad, Sept 15 : After repeated requests from Islamabad, at last Afghanistan government today handed over the custody of Pakistani “terror suspect” Dr. Aafia Siddiqui’s son Muhammad Ahmed to Pakistani authorities in Kabul.

It is expected that Muhammad Ahmed will be sent to Pakistan by the first available flight.

According to Pakistan foreign ministry sources, officials of Pakistan and Afghanistan met in Kabul after which Afghanistan’s interior ministry official Daud Panj Sheri handed over Muhmmad Ahmed to Pakistani ambassador Asif Durrani, reported The News.

It may be mentioned here that US officials claimed to have arrested Aafia and her three children from Ghazni in 2003.

One of the three children had already died while there was no information about her daughter whether she would be handed over to Pakistani official or not, added the paper

Dr Aafia is presently languishing in a US jail facing terror charges. She is charged of attempting to kill US troops in Afghanistan during interrogation after being arrested.

According to her lawyers, she is being meted an inhuman treatment, and is being physically checked in naked condition every time she is allowed to meet anyone, even her lawyers. Giving an account of the physical checking, one of her lawyers told a court last week that Aafia is mad to bend forward and forced to cough while all her body parts are frisked. (ANI)
