Texas Father who attacked Doctors in January over his Brain-dead Son Released from Jail
A Texas man who suffered a stroke that left him brain dead got a new life when his father threatened doctors from removing him off life support with a gun. The father said he broke law to buy some time with his son. The man has been released this week from prison after judges removed one of the two charges against him.
The drama took place about eleven months ago when George Pickering II arrived at Tomball Regional Medical Centre in Houston with a gun. It was the medical center which was treating his son. According to the man, he knew that he was breaking the law, but he took the decision because doctors were planning to remove life support.
The dad, George II, was sure that his son, George III, will recover. Now, as per doctors, George III is recovering and doing well. While talking about the incident in January, George II said, “They were moving too fast. Sadly, after a few hours, the doctors declared that nothing can be done in Pickering’s case and chose to declare him brain-dead”.
The father admitted that he broke law at that time. He even said that he was drunk and aggressive, but it was only because he was determined that his son would survive. After the incident, George II peacefully surrendered to authorities.
Now, George II is out of prison and happy to know that his son has survived. While talking to media, the man said he is very happy and just wants to spend time with his son. He said law was broken eleven months ago, but it was broken for right reasons.
