THQ offering new 'Red Faction Origins' on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC
THQ’s new "Red Faction: Armageddon" has been getting critical acclaim for its simplicity within a action packed plot.
Red Faction: Armageddon is a newer version of the Red Faction: Guerrilla, which was released in 2009. The earlier title featuring Alec Mason fighting alongside Martian rebels against the Earth Defense Force won a great number of fans, who have been waiting for the new version.
Armageddon stars Alec's grandson Darius Mason, who while sunning a mining business accidentally unlocks a mysterious, alien force that begins ravaging Mars. He has to join Martians to eliminate the enemy.
Everything in the game environment in destructible and players are simply enticed to destroy everything around them. The players are seduced to blow up explosive canisters that are seen near buildings and players have the option to choose from weapons, like Charge Launchers, Plasma Cannons and the fantastic Magnetic Gun, that wreck havoc on everything on its way.
Destroyed structures allow users to gain earn extra abilities, such as increased health, the ability to carry more ammo and improved evasive tactics. Armageddon’s campaign runs for about 10-12 hours and the game also features a Ruin Mode. There is also the Infiltration mode, where players have to team up to destroy the enemy.
Red Faction: Armageddon is available for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 at $59.99 and for PC at $49.99.
