Three Die Of Swine Flu In Rajasthan, Toll Touches 33

Kota, RajasthanThree persons, comprising two women and a kid, on Friday lost their lives owing to the deadly H1N1 flu in Rajasthan.

Mr. O. P. Gupta, Director (Public Health) said that out of three new cases, two fatalities, Santosh and Shahnaz Bano, have been reported from Jodhpur and one death, Divya Jain (10), was from Udaipur.

Jaipur's Maharani College will be shut till Monday following one of the first-year pupils being tested positive for the flu on Friday.

The death toll because of H1N1 virus in Rajasthan reached 33, whilst the total number of confirmed flu cases reached 1027 with 42 people testing positive for the flu on Friday.

Of the 42 fresh swine flu cases, 27 were from Jaipur, followed by Jodhpur (6), Bikaner (4), Ajmer (93) and Kota (2).

Thus far, the death rate in Jodhpur remained on top with 13 of the 114 tested positive succumbing to the deadly virus.

Praful Kachawa, superintendent MDM hospital in Jodhpur, said, "All patients who succumbed to the virus were of category C and came in a critical condition owing to which they were put on ventilators and we couldn't save them."
