Three launches app page on Nokia OVI storeUK based telecom operator, Three has announced the launch of a dedicated channel with a third-party app store. The company has partnered with handset maker, Nokia a section on the new store called, ‘Three Likes.’

Customers of Nokia's Ovi Store will now be able to avoid the premium rate SMS service or third party financial service fees when they purchase apps on their mobile phones. The purchased apps will appear in their monthly bills.

Conor Pierce, GM at Nokia said, "We are extremely pleased to be able to provide operators an easy and flexible way in which to both differentiates themselves in the market place as well as providing a unique and targeted offering to their consumers. We are delighted to be supporting Three with this concept through the Ovi Store."

Three’s new page on the store, 'Three Likes' page will offer a choice of 40 recommended apps for Nokia phones. The operator said that it will recommend apps every week offering latest entertainment and gaming or apps offering navigation or those helping users save costs.

Nokia’s X7 handset will be the first handset to feature the service from Three. C7, E7 and N8 users will also be able to access the service soon. The service works only with the latest version of Symbian platform.
