London, Dec 18 : American professional golfer Tiger Woods has said that he intends to retain his caddie Steve Williams despite his stinging criticism of Phil Mickelson.

Woods and Mickelson have never had an easy relationship between them and Williams almost snapped off all relations after he, according to a New Zealand newspaper, ruled out Mickelson as a great player saying "because I think he''s a [expletive]."

Williams, who further followed it up the next day by affirming it was no secret Woods and Mickelson did not get along, was lucky the golf ace decided to forget the whole matter.

"I talked to Stevie and he feels bad," the Telegraph quoted Woods as saying on the eve of the Chevron World Challenge, which he hosts.

"It''s something none of us really wanted to happen, but it''s over and done with, and we put it to bed," he said.

When someone asked him if Williams would be there in 2009, Woods answered cryptically: "Yes he is, but what we''re carrying in there I don''t know, yet." (ANI)
