TN Woman, Son Quarantined In Coimbatore With Swine Flu Symptoms  After reporting symptoms of deadly H1N1 flu, a 34-year-old woman and her 5-year old son were admitted to the Identified Isolation Facility at Coimbatore.

According to reports, the woman along with her two kids returned to India from the United States via Dubai on May 28.

They landed in Chennai on May 28, boarding flight EK-204 transiting Dubai (flight EK 542). After that, they boarded a Kingfisher flight to Coimbatore (Kingfisher IT-2901) the same day.

The boy was suffering from fever even before leaving the US.

The report also said that the woman's eight-year-old daughter was tested negative for H1N1 infection.

However, the girl has also been kept under observation. All three have been administered Tamiflu.

While talking to media persons, health secretary Mr. Naresh Dayal stated, “The family was checked for fever both in US and Chennai and they had tested negative. They started getting symptoms only after they reached Coimbatore.”

According to the Union Health and Family Welfare Ministry, all the passengers of the flights in which they travelled are being traced and have been suggested to keep an eye on their health.

“The patients are presently afebrile (have no fever). All their local contacts have been traced. They too are afebrile and their health status is being monitored. Passengers of the Kingfisher flight and those of EK-542 are being traced and advised to monitor their health status,” the officials added.

In the meantime, testing of passengers returning from affected nations is going on in 21 international airports of the country.

On Monday, more than 47,000 riders were tested by 221 doctors and 88 paramedics deployed to man 76 counters.

In May 2009, India had reported its first case of H1N1 flu in a student who had travelled to Hyderabad from New York via Dubai.
