Tokyo - Stocks in Tokyo continued their downward course on Tuesday, plunging in the opening minutes a day after several markets around the world fell to multiple-year lows.

The Nikkei 225 Stock Average lost 365.35 points, or 3.47 per cent, to 10,109.74 by 9:11 am.

The dollar was trading weaker at 101.55-60 yen to 103.72-73 yen. The euro was also lower at 1.3515-20 dollars to 1.3614-15 dollars. (dpa)
