Too Much Salt Causes Kidney Problems among Infants

Too Much Salt Causes Kidney Problems among InfantsA research conducted by the Bristol University researchers claimed that the Tinned spaghetti and baked beans lead many British infants to consume plenty of salt.

They also claimed that Baby foodstuffs with gravy, yeast extracts and cow milk also added to the problem. The European Journal of Clinical Nutrition, made the study public.

The research was made public, after the researchers analyzed the eating habits data of almost 1,200 babies, especially the 8-month-old babies.

The findings concluded approximately 70% of the infants, consumed 400mg of sodium (or 1g of salt) and as of result of which, they suffered from many deadly health problems, also including swear kidneys problems.

The researchers further asserted that to reduce the risk of the problems caused by the consumption, all the parents were advised to follow the family diet schedules, which included all the food items with no addition of extra salt.

Dr. Pauline Emmett and Vicky Cribb, nutritionists and lead authors of the study added, “This research suggests that clear advice is needed for parents about what foods are suitable for infants. This should be given to all parents and careers and should include the important advice not to use cows' milk as a main drink before 12 months of age".
