The Japanese electronics maker, Toshiba is planning to launch its Thrive tablet computer in the US on 10 July.
Toshiba Thrive tablet’s pre-orders will begin on June 13th at Best Buy, along with the usual "office superstores" and "e-commerce players," and will launch in the US market.
Toshiba said that its basic model will be priced at $429 comes with wi-fi ability and is targeted at consumers who use tablets at home. The 10.1-inch tablet runs Android 3.1, and comes in three sizes: 8GB ($429), 16GB ($479), and 32GB ($579).
"There is a market out there of folks who want to buy non-Apple products," said Jeff Barney of Toshiba America.
