As the New York Times reports, software firms such as Sony and HP are pushing hard to replace the clock radio with fancy doodads like the Dash or the DreamScreen. And soon they claim of having it out on shelves.

However the problem pertaining to this is the newness that seems to lack in these devices. Most of the devices such as clock, alarm and internet connectivity on their phones come equipped with tactile function.

Also the trade experts claim that it is a lot more convenient and cheaper to purchase a dock for that than some fancy phoneless version of one. The day is not far where whilst sitting on the bedside we can operate things at far with a mere touch.
