TVS Motor sales increase 5 per cent in January

TVS Motor sales increase 5 per cent in JanuaryTVS Motor Company has said that its total sales increased by 5 per cent in the month of January 2012 to the level of 173,514 units compared to 165,152 units in January 2011.

The cumulative sales for the period April 2011 to January 2012 increased by 10 per cent to 1,843,554 units compared to 1,678,048 units n the same previous of previous year. The sales increased by 6 per cent to 171,112 units in January 2012 compared to 161,725 units in January 2011.

The sales of scooters increased 2 per cent 41,469 units compared to 40,736 units in January 2011. The company sold 65,608 units in January 2012 compared to 67,721 units in January 2011 in the motorcycles segment. The sales domestic two wheeler sales increased 8% with 153,014 units in January compared to 142,227 units in January 2011.

The company sold 2,402 units of three wheelers in January 2012 against 3,427 units in the same month of the previous year.

TVS exported 18,610 units in January 2012 compared to 21,224 units in the same month of the previous year. It exported 18,008 units of two wheelers in January compared to 19,498 units in January 2011.
