Car productionAccording to the latest data released, car production in the UK has recorded strong growth during the year backed by increased production and sales during the month of September.

The figures released by the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT) showed that the total car production rose 12,000 units or 9.9 per cent during the month of September compared to eth same month of the previous year. Production facilities produced a total of 14088 cars during the previous month, taking the total to 1.5 million for the first time since October 2008 for the 12 months period.

So far in 2013, UK manufacturers produced 1,125,433 cars compared to fewer than a million units during the same period of 2011. The total exports rose 9.3 per cent during the same period of the previous year from the UK.

SMMT chief executive Mike Hawes said: "Boosted by strong domestic demand, September's 9.9 per cent rise in car manufacturing reinforces how the sector is one of the UK's biggest success stories of recent years." The commercial vehicle production has been weak in the country and officials said that it is mainly due to the uncertainties in the Eurozone.
