U.K. industrial production rise 2.9 percent in JulyThe industrial production in the UK increased by its fastest pace in 25 years in the month of July as the production picked up from June, when the UK celebrated Queen's jubilee with extra public holiday.

The total industrial production rose by an estimated 2.9 percent during the month from June, which is its highest level since February 1987. The industrial production had fallen 2.4 percent in June, according to the data released by the Office for National Statistics. The data showed that 11 out of the 13 manufacturing categories rose in the month while two declined.

A Bloomberg News survey involving 28 economists had predicted a growth of 1.5 percent during the month. The factory output rose 3.2 percent in July after falling 2.9 percent in the previous month. The rise in industrial production, which is a key contributor to the overall economic growth, might mean that the UK economy could begin its recovery from a slowdown.

Experts say that the rise may not mean that the economy is recovering and pointed out that the manufacturers in the UK are facing a very difficult domestic and global environment.

The Bank of England has said that the outlook for the economic growth is unusually uncertain. The UK economy shrank 0.5 percent in the second quarter of the year.
