UK Pound rises to $1.6519 against US Dollar
The British Pound has risen significantly over the previous one year indicating that the foreign investors have shown confidence on the British Economy.
The British currency has risen 30 per cent during the previous one year. The pound rose to $1.6519 against the US dollar yesterday, which is its highest level in more than two years. The rising value of the currency has made it easier for the British people to travel abroad but on the other hand it has made it difficult for the exports form the country to export products to other countries because the valuation has made exports more expensive and less competitive in the global markets.
Research from the Post Office showed that the British currency rose against 33 out of 42 holiday currencies over the previous one year. The currency has risen 18.2 per cent against the Australian dollar, 29.8 per cent against the Indonesian rupiah, 24.7 per cent against the South African rand and 23.4 per cent against the Japanese yen. On the other hand, pound has fallen by 2.7 per cent against the euro over the previous one year.
